Well, we have to start somewhere and in traditional FA Cup action, it's the
weakest who enter first. The bottom 8 teams in the table last week were drawn
together for the 1st round proper. The 4 winners from these ties will progress
to Round 2 to make up 16 including the top 12 teams.
This years rules are:
- Straight knockout. A tie will result in a replay.
- No home advantage.
- 1 goal scored equals just that, 1 goal for the team.
- An own goal counts against the team.
- A Goalkeepers clean sheet cancels out the opponents FIRST goal only. If the opponent
hasn't scored, then there is nothing to cancel out.
The last rule is how the league may be run next year, and I am using the FF CUP
partly as a testing bed for that. Goals that are cancelled out will be listed as
Scorer [Goalkeeper]
